Preview Colin Stetson’s New History Warfare Vol. 3 Feat. Justin Vernon
The saxophonist Colin Stetson is essentially a one-man circus act, pulling all sorts of drones and skitters and yelps and groans out of his gigantic instrument, often all at once. He’s spent the better part of the past two years on the road as a part of Bon Iver’s touring band, and his bandleader Justin Vernon shows up on four songs from Stetson’s new album New History Warfare Vol. 3: To See More Light, the final entry in Stetson’s New History Warfare trilogy. We’ve already posted the all-Stetson track “High Above A Grey Green Sea,” and now the Belgian radio show Sterrenplaten has played four more songs from the disc: “And In Truth,” “Who The Waves Are Roaring For,” “Hunted,” and “Part Of Me Apart From You.” The former two songs feature Vernon; “And In Truth” starts the show, and the other three begin at the 13:25 mark.
