The atmospheric Austin psych trio Pure X are getting set to release their sophomore album Crawling Up The Stairs, and we recently posted the song "Things In My Head." Now, they've shared another one, "Someone Else," which welds a glassy and vaguely country-fried synth-rock lope to vocals so chokingly emotional that they remind me of prime-era Bright Eyes, only if I weren't sure whether or not Conor Oberst was joking.
