World’s Fair – “’96 Knicks”
A few weeks ago I waxed on the current state of New York rap and mentioned that if Queens collective World’s Fair didn’t drop their “What Up Gangsta?”-interpolating track “’96 Knicks” soon, I might implode. Out of nowhere today, Hot 97 DJ and Nicki Minaj adversary Peter Rosenberg premiered the cut. It is just as exhilarating as I remember it being the sole time I saw them perform it live last January and feels even better to hear “it’s like Miami and the Knicks ’96” after New York’s original NBA squad dismantled the Heat last night at MSG South. Check out the track below.
Rosenberg’s New York Renaissance mixtape is out 4/4 in conjunction with Ecko UNLTD. World’s Fair’s tape Bastards Of The Party is out soon.
