The-Dream – “IV Play”
As with most music from The-Dream, hearing this for the first time on computer speakers is not recommended. I got to hear “IV Play,” along with nine other tracks that will appear on his upcoming album of the same name, last week in a Chelsea studio with an impressive sound system and sufficient bass is so necessary. If Dream spent most of his career drawing inspiration from R. Kelly and then flipping the filthy parts of his output into space aged, throbfests with his production partner Tricky Stewart, then his future is concocting astral Jodeci songs in the vein of Michael Jackson’s Dangerous — both of which make their way into the album. Listen to the track below. Try not to get anyone pregnant afterward.

IV Play is out 5/28 via Radio Killa/Def Jam.
