On his 2010 album Cerulean, Will Wiesenfeld, the Californian singer and producer who records as Baths, walked the line between forthright and honest bedroom-pop and murky, blown-out bass music. Next month, he’ll follow up that album with a new song called Obsidian, and though the album track “Ironworks” seems to come from the same ingredients as his older work, they feel blurred together into a more cohesive whole, as Wiesenfeld’s falsetto floats above eerily still pianos and irregular-heartbeat drums.
