Mr. Twin Sister – “Out Of The Dark”
Twin Sister spent the early part of this decade developing a reputation as “Long Island’s dreamiest dream pop band” before saturating pop culture in unexpected ways such as being sampled on a Kendrick Lamar song and singer Andrea Estella co-starring in the Veronica Mars movie. They’re back with a new single called “Out Of The Dark,” but their name has changed slightly, as has their sound. From now on they’ll be called Mr. Twin Sister, and the song is a darkly sleek, squirmy electro-pop song that makes me wonder if they’ve been jamming Liars and Factory Floor. The key lyric goes like so: “I am a woman, but inside I’m a man, and I want to be as gay as I can.” No idea whether there’s any personal resonance to that sentiment or if it’s linked to the name change. In any case, the song bangs, so download it below or hear it an animated YouTube video.

That felt good.
