Carina Round – “Come Undone” (Duran Duran Cover)
Manimal Record’s charity album Making Patterns Rhyme: A Tribute to Duran Duran comes out next week and we’ve already heard Moby’s version of “Rio” and Warpaint’s cover of “The Chauffeur.” Next up is British singer-songwriter Carina Round’s take on “Come Undone,” off of their 1993 second self-titled album. “The original is very upbeat, yet the simple repeated chorus lyric struck me as so dramatic and beautiful, and I wanted to capture some of that in this version,” Round told USA Today. “I also wanted to bring out the darker more longing feeling of the lyrics which was aided by Aidan [Hawken]’s voice and the angular guitars and brooding synths.” Listen below.
Making Patterns Rhyme: A Tribute to Duran Duran is out 7/15 on Manimal.
