In a new video created by the organization, Ryan Adams performed a cover of the Grateful Dead’s “Wharf Rat,” saying he likes to listen to the Dead when he feels out of place or isn’t feeling great. Adams has collaborated several times with the Dead’s Phil Lesh, including a previous cover of “Wharf Rat” at the jam-band awards ceremony the Jammys, and that experience shows here. He gives a reverent, touching performance of a tune that obviously means a lot to him. Watch below.
