Gotta love a lyric like “We could be drunk together/ We could be punk together.” Those are a few of the many memorable lines on “Chewing Ghosts,” the latest offering from Dads’ upcoming I’ll Be The Tornado. (See also: “I need something new to obsess over,” “I’m old enough to know I’ve never been much of a fan of the aftertaste,” etc.) Like “Fake Knees” before it, this is a slightly more refined and restrained sound for the New Jersey emo duo, and the coping-with-getting-older subject matter matches that approach. But it’ll still have you pumping your fist when it kicks into overdrive. Press play and rock out.
