Bob Dylan To Be Honored By Beck, Jack White, The Black Keys, Eddie Vedder At 2015 MusiCares Gala
Bob Dylan has been named as the 2015 MusiCares Person Of The Year by The National Academy Of Recording Arts And Sciences, the same organization that gives out the Grammy Awards. He’ll be honored at a gala held on 2/6 (two days before the Grammys) in Los Angeles. Performers will include Beck, Jack White, the Black Keys, Eddie Vedder, Neil Young, Willie Nelson, Norah Jones, and more. Neil Portnow, president and CEO of the Recording Academy and the MusiCares foundation, said that Dylan’s “body of creative work has contributed to America’s culture, as well as that of the entire world, in genuinely deep and lasting ways.” Proceeds from the event will benefit the MusicCares program, which offers financial and medical assistance to musicians. Carole King won the 2014 award and Bruce Springsteen won the year before.
