Billy Corgan and Jeff Schroeder joined Joy Division's Peter Hook on stage at Chicago's Metro Cabaret on Friday night where Hook was playing a show with his new band the Light. The two remaining Smashing Pumpkins members came out during the encore to perform Joy Division's classic track "Love Will Tear Us Apart." As Alternative Nation points out, Corgan opened as a solo act for New Order on tour after they released their 2001 album Get Ready, and he played guitar and sang on a track on that same album.
