Matt Mondanile – “Bad Fog Of Loneliness” (Neil Young Cover)
Matt Mondanile, the Real Estate guitarist and Ducktails frontman, apparently isn’t so busy with his side projects that he can’t record the odd fuck-around cover in his room. Today, Mondanile shared his version of “Bad Fog Of Loneliness,” a song that Neil Young wrote in 1971 and played live occasionally but didn’t release until the 2007 concert album Live At Massey Hall 1971. Mondanile’s version is a sort of lovely, twinkling shrug. He writes that he “just did this randomly in my room” and that there’s a “purposely included mistake.” Listen to it below.
Let’s all agree to do like Mondanile and find more productive things to do with our downtime. It’s a new year.
