How To Dress Well and TĀLĀ have teamed up for Yours Truly’s Song From Scratch series, a project that pairs producers and vocalists in unlikely collaborations. Their result is dubbed “The One” but comes in two versions, one by each artist. Tom Krell’s take starts with his Auto-Tuned falsetto that carries a sense of urgency through the gut-punch of an opening line, “You can run and tell your basic friends/ That I want it like all the time.” From there, both tracks detail a relationship that sounds just as glitchy as the song itself, but overall TĀLĀ’s version is a little more subdued.
