Jeff The Brotherhood – “A Dog” + Colleen Green – “Hellraiser”
LAMC is an acronym coined by the late Ariel Panero that stands for Less Artists More Condos — yes, it’s ironic. Brooklyn-based label Famous Class launched a 7″ split series in memory of Panero, and they’re currently on their fifteenth release, which is a doozy. This one includes two brand new songs from friends and collaborators Jeff The Brotherhood and Colleen Green, who both already put out excellent new albums this year — Wasted On The Dream and I Want To Grow Up respectively.
Jeff The Brotherhood’s contribution is called “A Dog” and sees the Nashville scuzz-rockers returning to their roots; it was done as a home-recording with their four-person live setup. Green’s track is called “Hellraiser” and was recorded during the I Want To Grow Up sessions with a full band. It’s more of Green’s pulsing, take-no-shit fuzzed-out rebellion, and would’ve easily fit alongside any of the tracks on her new album that helped spur it to the #3 spot on our best albums of the year so far list. Of course, Jake Orrall of Jeff The Brotherhood had a major hand in recording Green’s latest, so it’s really all in the family for this 7-inch. Stream both new songs below and pre-order the split below. Remember, it’s all for a good cause — 100 percent of the proceeds from the sales of the split go straight to the Ariel Panero Memorial Fund at VH1 Save the Music.
Additionally, Famous Class have shared the details on their next release in the series. No. 16 will be La Luz’s “Believe My Eyes” b/w Scully’s “Don’t Want That.” Pre-order for that one on limited edition magenta & yellow, yellow, or black vinyl, begins 7/25. Check out pictures of the color-ways vinyl below:
It’s officially in stores 8/25. Seems like this is shaping up to be a great summer, musically speaking. Jeff The Brotherhood “A Dog” b/w Colleen Green “Hellraiser” is out toda via Famous Class. Get it here.
