Rae Sremmurd Promise New Album In December
Rae Sremmurd dropped their debut LP SremmLife back in January, and when it landed a spot on our 50 Best Albums Of 2015 So Far list I wrote about how readily the Brothers Sremm radiate fun. SremmLife is a record to party to, and as it turns out, the duo plan to keep that party going by releasing a follow-up album later this year. In an interview with 106 KMEL’s Shay Diddy, Rae Sremmurd name-dropped some of the artists featured on their forthcoming singles (we heard their Ty Dolla $ign and Future collaboration “Blasé” last month) and mentioned that their new album will drop in “like, December.” That’s not exactly a solid release date, but we can all cross our fingers at the thought of two Rae Sremmurd albums functioning as parentheses around 2015.
In the mean time, the official version of the Mike WiLL-produced “Burn Slow” featuring Wiz Khalifa is due out soon. Slim Jimmie also announced that he is doing pretty well after seriously injuring his leg during Rae Sremmurd’s Governors Ball set a last month. Watch the full interview below.
