Watch Mos Def Join Kendrick Lamar On “Alright” At Osheaga
Kendrick Lamar headlined the second day of Montreal’s Osheaga festival last night. As Pigeons & Planes reports, the audience started chanting the hook to “Alright” before Kendrick even took the stage, and Kendrick ended his set with the glorious one-two punch of TPAB highlights “King Kunta” and “Alright.” Before starting “King Kunta,” he noticed Yasiin Bey (aka Mos Def) at the side of the stage, and after some encouragement from Kendrick — who told the crowd that Mos Def had inspired him to start rapping — Bey took the stage. During “Alright,” Kendrick passed the mic to Bey for a special freestyle-assisted rendition of the song, which you can watch below via Pigeons & Planes.
