Big Air – “Vibe Patrol”
Halfway through Big Air’s song “Vibe Patrol,” the snotty lo-fi blurt-punk onslaught stops for a second so that a florid, lovely acoustic guitar line can come in out of nowhere, and it sticks around for the rest of the song. Big Air is Rob Dobson, formerly of the Charlottesville indie rock band the Fire Tapes. I saw him open for bands like Speedy Ortiz here in Charlottesville, but he’s apparently relocated to Los Angeles, and his debut album Don’t Care comes out next week. If “Vibe Patrol” is any indication, this should be a fun and unpredictable punk rock record. Listen to the song below.
Don’t Care is out 9/17 on Forged Artifacts.
