Santa Monica’s Natalie Mering, the former Jackie-O Motherfucker member and Ariel Pink collaborator who records as Weyes Blood, makes soft, enfolding music that draws on folk but seems too bent and idiosyncratic to fall under that genre umbrella. Last year, she released her solo album The Innocents, and next week, she’ll follow it up with a new four-song EP called Cardamom Times.
