25 Is On Pandora, Adele Announces European Tour
Have we reached peak Adele? No! There is more Adele!
Adele’s successful bid for world domination in album form, 25, just had the biggest sales in week in history and became 2015’s best-selling album in a mere three days. Those numbers certainly weren’t hindered by the fact that Adele kept the album off of all streaming platforms like Spotify or Apple Music. But it is on non-interactive online radio service Pandora, Reuters reports, which is very good for Pandora. Amusingly — and tellingly — Pandora shares closed 5 percent higher on the New York Stock Exchange yesterday. The power of Adele!
Adele has also just surprised everyone by announcing that, in support of 25, she’ll be heading out on the tour bus (or the private jet made of charred bits of the music industry left over after 25 hit, whatever) for the first time since 2011. “Hello, it’s me. I have been bluffing this whole time and I’m so relieved to finally tell you that I am, of course, coming on tour, and I can’t wait to see all of you there,” she said in a video announcement on Facebook. “So see you all very, very soon!” Watch the outtake-filled video and check out the European tour dates below.
