Andrew Weatherall – “The Confidence Man”
British electronic pioneer Andrew Weatherall is probably best known for his ’90s production work (Primal Scream, Beth Orton) and remixes (My Bloody Valentine, Björk), but he’s been releasing music under his own name since 2006, and next year he’ll release his first solo album since 2009. It’s called Covenanza, and was co-written with the Sabrettes’ Nina Walsh. “The Confidence Man” is the record’s first single, and it’s a warped, trance-like, bass-heavy seven minutes.
