Father John Misty – “Maybe, Sweet One, You Won’t Have Nightmares Tonight”
Although he is not, in fact, leading a second line for Glenn Frey today, Father John Misty is keeping himself busy in other ways. He’s just shared a new song entitled “Maybe, Sweet One, You Won’t Have Nightmares Tonight,” a sweetly tinkling lullaby that turns into hardcore nightmare fuel so gradually, you’ll hardly even notice. “I was asked to write a lullaby for Stephen Colbert as part of a skit for the show,” he writes in the track’s SoundCloud description. “Unfortunately the bit was cut for time/content.” Listen below.
Last we heard, FJM has a whole album’s worth of material ready to record.
