Nothing – “In Metal” (Low Cover)
Not long ago, Nothing, the Philly shoegaze band made up of dudes with serious hardcore and metal pedigrees, covered New Order’s “Leave Me Alone.” It didn’t really work. Maybe we shouldn’t be surprised that a band so resolutely sad should have trouble with weightless glimmer. But now, Nothing have tried out another cover, and it’s one that absolutely works. Nothing just shared their take on “In Metal,” a slowcore classic from Low’s 2001 album Things We Lost In The Fire. And in its way, Nothing’s version is nearly as wispy and heavy and atmospheric as the original. Listen to it below.
UPDATE: It turns out this version of the song is a couple of years old, and they only just uploaded it to YouTube.
Nothing apparently have a new album coming out sometime this year.
