For the past four years the Growlers have been throwing their Beach Goth festival in Orange County. The name is funny for obvious reasons, reasons mined in Glenn Danzig's much-hyped visit to Portlandia. In the Portlandia sketch, which just made its way online, the former Misfits leader plays a vampiric beach-dweller who explains to Fred Armisen's goth character that to have fun at the shoreline, you have to be willing to be a little lame -- specifically, ditch the all-black leather attire in favor of some Billabong and Pac Sun gear.
