Head Wound City – “Scraper”
Head Wound City are a supergroup formed in the mid-2000s comprising members of the Yeah Yeah Yeahs, the Blood Brothers, and the Locust. We haven’t heard any new material from them since they played some new songs in LA for a lucky crowd a couple years ago. That thrash session hinted at more things to come, and their newest offering, “Scraper,” is like a no-holds-barred cage match to lay the smack down and let people know they mean business on their upcoming full-length, A New Wave Of Violence. Huge, fuzzy layers of guitar, blood-curdling screams, and cutting drums all crawl up the side of the cage for a free-fall drop crashing down on your ears. This track is a quick two and a half minutes of sheer punishment. Brace yourself and listen.
A New Wave Of Violence is out 5/13 on Vice. Pre-order is available here.
