If you've been paying attention, you already know that Texan instrumental post-rockers Explosions In The Sky are a big deal. They play to huge crowds and soundtrack movies and TV shows. Still, there's something beautiful and alien about watching a rock band play a late-night talk show without ever touching a microphone. EITS just released their new album The Wilderness, and last night, they appeared on the Late Show With Stephen Colbert to play "Disintegration Anxiety," a slow-building highlight from the LP. The band's whole performance style doesn't seem like the kind of thing that should translate to TV, but I thought it worked really nicely. Watch it below.
