Watch Deftones Roar Through Two Songs On Kimmel
Last week, Deftones, who’d been away for a while, came back with a layered and powerful new album called Gore. And last night, they took over the festival stage at Jimmy Kimmel Live to play a couple of new songs and to show the world what a focused and intense live act they are. On the show itself, they did “Prayers/Triangles,” the album’s monolithic tension-and-release single. And as an online bonus, they also did the just-as-dynamic deep cut “Hearts/Wires.” And since the show was outside, we got to see the wind whipping through Chino Moreno’s newly bleached hair. I wonder if it was weird for the band to play to something other than a seething moshpit. Check out the performance below; it’s a good one.
Gore is out now on Warner Bros.
