Ryan Adams has released a whole lot of records, but his 2000 solo debut Heartbreaker is the LP even the most casual Adams fans tend to know and love. It’s one of alt-country’s sacred texts, and next month it’s getting a deluxe reissue via Adams’ own Pax-Am label. The reissue includes a remaster of the original album plus lots of previously unreleased alternate versions and outtakes from the Heartbreaker sessions and unseen concert footage filmed at NYC’s Mercury Lounge around the time of Heartbreaker’s release. Today Adams has shared “Locked Away,” a song that didn’t make it on the album but was definitely good enough to.
