Twin Peaks – “Holding Roses”
Chicago classic rock revivalists and Band To Watch alums Twin Peaks are set to drop their latest full-length, Down In Heaven, later this spring. They’ve shared groovy garage jams “Walk To The One You Love” and “Butterfly” so far, and today they offer the near-ballad “Holding Roses.” Clanging, repeated piano hits, interlocking guitar grooves, and sparse bass combine for a huge swelling moment about saying good-bye to a lover. The hook — “Good. Bye. Ba-by/ I really wish you could have stayed” — is immense and infectious. Down In Heaven is coming together quite nicely. Listen.
Down In Heaven is out 5/13 on Grand Jury.
