This year, rather than releasing an album in any sort of traditional way, Danish space-poppers the Raveonettes are dropping one new song every month, and they’ll have an album’s worth of new material by the time 2017 arrives. We’ve already heard a handful of songs from them: “The World Is Empty (Without You),” “Run Mascara Run,” “Excuses,” “Junko Ozawa.” And today, we get to hear the May entry in the series. It’s called “Scout,” and it’s a hazy pop song that reminds me of jj, or of some of the other younger, ecstasy-addled Swedes who have come out in the past few years. Check it out below.
