Voodoo Festival 2016 Lineup
Mysterious prog-metal superstars Tool haven’t played any live shows since January, but they’ll return to the stage this fall as headliners at New Orleans’ Voodoo Festival. If you’re going to the festival, you’ll see what I saw at Lollapalooza in 2009: Tool’s ability to turn any festival, no matter how big, into a gigantic Tool show with a whole lot of opening acts. People love this fucking band. (And no, we probably shouldn’t take this show as an indication that they’re any closer to finishing a new album.)
At the festival, Tool will share headliner duties with Arcade Fire and the Weeknd. The rest of the bill is a strange hodgepodge that features a ton of intriguing names: Band Of Horses, Kevin Gates, Foals, Die Antwoord, Ghost, DJ Mustard, Anderson .Paak And The Free Nationals, Snakehips, Bully, Chairlift, local treasures the Preservation Hall Jazz Band, and Tool side project Puscifer. There’s also a whole lot of EDM. The festival comes to New Orleans’ City Park 10/28-30. Check below for the full lineup.
