Sleigh Bells – “Hyper Dark”
It’s been three years since New York noise-pop duo Sleigh Bells released Bitter Rivals, their last album. But in the past few months, they’ve shared a couple of new songs, “Champions Of Unrestricted Beauty” and “Rule Number One.” And late last night, they posted another, which should at least indicate that they’ve got something in the works. The new Sleigh Bells track “Hyper Dark” starts out as diffuse lo-fi noise and then transforms into the sort of glimmering synth-ballad that might’ve worked on the Drive soundtrack. Both of those sounds are new for this group, and the second of the two fits them pretty well. Listen to the new song below.
