After dropping the surprise Future Present Past EP earlier this year, the Strokes made their first TV appearance behind it last night. They brought their deathless rumpled charm to the stage at Jimmy Kimmel Live, and I’m surprised the show didn’t put them on the outdoor festival stage that they usually use for bigger acts. But the Strokes are more of an inside-in-the-dark band anyway, and they slithered their way through the EP highlight “Threat Of Joy,” showing very little evidence that it’s been 15 years since we met them.
