Hear The Lullaby Version Of LCD Soundsystem’s “All My Friends” From New Rockabye Baby! Comp
The Los Angeles company Rockabye Baby has carved out a strange niche for itself by making albums full of lullabies-for-babies versions of songs from beloved rock stars — the idea being, I suppose, that you have to slowly ease Junior into a lifetime of Bob Marley/Pink Floyd/Kanye West/the Cure fandom. As previously reported, the forthcoming album Birthday Party turns various party anthems, past and present, into lullabies. We’ve posted the album version of Daft Punk’s “Get Lucky,” and now we also get to hear the lullaby version of the album’s most confusing inclusion: LCD Soundsystem’s “All My Friends,” a song that was basically already a lullaby. The Rockabye Baby version sounds so little like the original that you probably wouldn’t have figured it out if you didn’t read what you were clicking on. Check it out below, via Pitchfork.
Birthday Party is out 10/4.
