Watch Eleven From Stranger Things Rap Nicki Minaj’s “Monster” Verse
Apparently, we, as a culture, really like it when people rap Nicki Minaj’s verse from Kanye West’s “Monster” on late-night talk shows. We liked it when Adele did it on James Corden, and we must also like it when one of the kids from Stranger Things does it on The Tonight Show. Last night, Jimmy Fallon welcomed the kids from the great Netflix nostalgic sci-fi series, and he played a Silly String-centric game with them called Stranger Strings, because Jimmy Fallon is a comedy genius. This thing naturally ended with Millie Bobby Brown, the young actress who plays Eleven on the show, rapping most of that “Monster” verse and censoring her own cuss words, while the Roots played behind her and Fallon and the other kids danced. (Shout out to Finn Wolfhard’s “uh, I guess I have to dance now” face.) She does just fine, but she is a long way away from being the best rapper named Bobby Brown; she will have to train hard if she wants to do better than the “Every Little Step” and “On Our Own” verses. Watch the hilarity below.
Stranger Things is coming back for a second season next year. Also, Fallon ran a sketch last night where Barb comes back, because I guess we’re still not sick of talking about fucking Barb yet.
