On Aug. 21, 2025, BigXthaPlug was arrested for marijuana possession of less than two ounces, and unlawful possession of a firearm just hours before his album came out. On Aug. 21, 2026, BigXthaPlug was arrested again, this time for driving while intoxicated, marijuana possession of less than 2 ounces, and unlawful possession of a firearm.
Due to the arrest, the rapper missed his headlining set at Winnipeg's Country Rising Festival on Friday. On their Instagram, the festival announced he was no longer performing due to "a personal emergency." He was arrested in the Dallas suburb of Allen and booked into the Collin County Jail. He was slated to perform at the Iowa State Fair today, but The Des Moines Register reports that records show he hasn't been released as of Saturday morning.
