Local Natives – “All Night” (Beyoncé Cover)
Tomorrow, the smooth, harmony-happy Los Angeles indie rockers Local Natives will release their new album Sunlit Youth, and we’ve posted their new songs “Past Lives,” “Villainy,” “Fountain Of Youth,” and “Coins.” Today, they’ve shared another song, but it’s not one of the ones on their album. Instead, it’s a cover of Beyoncé’s “All Night,” a ballad from Lemonade, one of this year’s best albums. You have to have enormous fucking courage to cover a Beyoncé song, even if you are a great singer, so credit Local Natives with having that. But don’t expect their version of the song to eclipse the original anytime soon. Local Natives recorded their cover during a Sirius XMU live-in-studio session, and you can hear it below, via Pitchfork.
Sunlit Youth is out 9/9 via Loma Vista.
