Watch Pusha T Talk McDonald’s, Hillary Clinton, And Prison Reform On Colbert
Pusha T has been surprisingly involved with Hillary Clinton’s presidential campaign: He FaceTimed with the candidate, she gave away a meet-and-greet with the him, and he appeared in conversation with her running mate Tim Kaine, Pusha’s fellow Virginian. The G.O.O.D. Music president continued his political maneuvering last night by appearing on Colbert on the same night as his fellow rap titans Run The Jewels — not as a musical guest, but to sit down for an interview.
It was a good interview, too! Pusha shared the origin story of his Clipse hit “Grindin’,” detailed his involvement with the McDonald’s jingle “I’m Lovin’ It” (apparently he wrote an alternate rap version per Steve Stoute’s request after Justin Timberlake penned the melody), and explained that he’s backing Clinton in the hopes that she’ll continue Barack Obama’s fight for prison reform. Mary-Louise Parker was there too, but no one made any jokes connecting Pusha’s signature drug raps with Parker’s famous role on Weeds — missed opportunity! Watch the interview below.
