clipping. – “Fat Fingers”
Daveed Diggs, frontman of the Los Angeles avant-rap trio clipping., just spent a year on Broadway, playing the third president of these United States in Hamilton. And while that might not make him an expert in presidential politics, it does make him an expert in rapping about them. And today, clipping. become the latest artists to contribute to the 30 Days, 30 Songs project, in which different musicians contribute one new anti-Trump song every day until the election. “Fat Fingers,” clipping.’s contributions, flips both “O Canada” and Nas’ “Ether” and aims a few choice bars at Trump: “A product of racists with weak poker faces / They pulled this Trump card, now the whole game’s disgraced.” Check it out below.
You can keep up with 30 Days, 30 Songs here. Meanwhile, clipping.’s new album Splendor & Misery is out now on Sub Pop.
