Back in September, Yusuf/Cat Stevens played Nashville for the first time in 40 years, and he was joined on stage by Jack White. The day before that show, White got Yusuf to go into the Third Man Records store’s Blue Room and record some tracks direct to acetate. Yusuf chose to do “I Love My Dog,” the first song he ever released under the Cat Stevens name back in 1966. Listen to it via NPR below.

The re-recorded “I Love My Dog” will be included on a new 7″ that also features “Matthew And Son.” It’s out on 11/25.
