Dude York – “Tonight”

10:00 AM EST on January 17, 2017

Sam Gehrke

Seattle trio Dude York are gearing up to release their sophomore album, Sincerely, next month. Back in November, they shared lead single "Black Jack," which saw co-vocalist Peter Richards preaching self-care anthemics over crunchy riffs. The second single, "Tonight," has bassist Claire England taking over on vocal duties for a resignedly liberating take on the break-up song. "Clearly we're too different/ I guess that means it's the end," she sings. "They way you talk to me makes me feel like just a friend/ I might be wrong but at least I'm sure that you're not right/ Let's wrap this up, there's somewhere else I've got to be tonight." That last word is repeated in a propulsive bit of glory that encourages you to get up and get moving. Listen below.

Sincerely is out 2/24 via Hardly Art. Pre-order it here.
