Wiki – “Icarus” Video
New York City rapper Patrick “Wiki” Morales is back with his new single and accompanying visual, “Icarus.” The video features Wiki looking like an old wise man walking along the side of an ice-encrusted road and wandering through the woods with a mahogany cane. The video’s main setting looks like the ruins of an Irish castle with the Wiki Flag (a fusion of the Puerto Rican and Irish flags) hanging in the background. He walks around like a boss with a Sopranos jacket.
The five-minute clip also incorporates home footage of past shows and playful fuckery with his friends. The track is astral and minimal with iridescent synths and a slow-chilling tempo. The last couple minutes of “Icarus” depict Wiki walking up a large hill toward the sun, contradicting the song’s mantra (“This is Icarus, I’m sick of it/ I’m done trying to get to the sun”) to meet friends with Ballantine 40s and a bonfire. The video was directed by Morales himself and the track produced by Rob Mack. Check it out below.
“Icarus” follows the former Ratking leader’s collaboration with Your Old Droog from February’s What Happened To Fire. It’s Wiki’s first solo single following up 2015’s Lil Me.
