The Classic Fests Announce Full Inaugural Lineup
After the success of Desert Trip, last year’s enormous nostalgia-rock festival, we were bound to see copycats. And now we’ve got our first. As previously reported, the Eagles, who implied that they wouldn’t play any more shows after co-frontman Glenn Frey died last year, are coming back to headline a new bicoastal fest with Fleetwood Mac. And now we have the details on the festival, which is called the Classic and which will come to both New York and Los Angeles this summer.
The Eagles and Fleetwood Mac will indeed headline the Classic, which comes to LA’s Dodger Stadium 7/15-16 and New York’s Citi Field 7/29-30. The Eagles will headline the Friday night shows, with Steely Dan and the Doobie Brothers filling out the extremely ’70s bill. Meanwhile, Journey and Earth, Wind & Fire will support Fleetwood Mac at the Saturday night shows. Here’s the weirdly charming online ad, which makes it look like a reality show:
