Brockhampton – “Swamp” Video
Although Brockhampton, the LA rap and art collective headed up by Kevin Abstract, released their debut album Saturation exactly two months ago today, they’ve already shared a smattering of music from its follow-up Saturation II. The forthcoming album’s lead single “Gummy” was one of our favorite songs of last week, and the next one is just as good. “Swamp” is a booming slow-creeper marked by jazzy guitar runs, West Coast gangster rap synth squeals, and verses from a small army of hungry young rappers bursting with confidence. Its video, again directed by Abstract, is possibly riffing on police treatment of minorities and definitely involves a puppet flying through the clouds. Like the “Gummy” video, it’s instantly memorable and supremely contagious. Watch below.
