Austin City Limits 2019 Lineup
Austin City Limits, one of the biggest festivals in North America, is coming back this fall, and it’s just unveiled a lineup that’s heavy on big names. Once again, the show is coming to Austin’s Zilker Park, and it’ll go down on two different weekends, 10/4-6 and 10/11-13. Guns N’ Roses, who haven’t played an American festival in a few years, are among the headliners. They’ll share headlining duties with Childish Gambino and Mumford & Sons. And the list of secondary headliners is also pretty huge: the Cure, Cardi B, Billie Eilish, Tame Impala, and Robyn.
There are plenty of other big names on the bill, including the Raconteurs and Thom Yorke’s Tomorrow’s Modern Boxes project, neither of which have been big festival presences lately. And the bill also features people like Kacey Musgraves, Lizzo, James Blake, Lil Uzi Vert, 21 Savage, Rosalía, Kali Uchis, Jenny Lewis, Kaytranada, Denzel Curry, Tierra Whack, FIDLAR, Cherry Glazerr, Shura, Weyes Blood, Nilüfer Yanya and Texas hero Megan Thee Stallion. (Some of them, including a couple of the secondary headliners, are only playing one of the two weekends.)
Discussion questions: Are Tame Impala not considered full-on top-tier headliners anymore? Are Third Eye Blind actually moving up the bill at festivals like these? And what’s it going to look like when contemporary Christian star Lauren Daigle takes the stage at a festival like this? You can find all the relevant info here.
