Poliça – “Forget Me Now” Video
Minneapolis synthpoppers Poliça are coming back next year. They’re set to follow up 2016’s United Crushers, their last non-collaborative album, with a new LP called When We Stay Alive. The group recorded the album with producer and regular collaborator Ryan Olson, the man behind the Minneapolis collective Gayngs. We’ve already seen their video for first single “Driving.” Today, we get another one.
The new track “Forget Me Now” is a grand, crashing ballad. Frontwoman Channy Leaneagh sings about being surrounded by dirtbags: “All the good men that I know / Lost their light to pills and blow.” And then: “What about me makes you lie?” It’s cinematically sad music.
The video comes from director Isaac Gale, who also did the “Driving” video. There wasn’t too much happening in that video, and there’s not too much happening in this one, either. It’s just a simple performance video, full of footage of the band playing in some kind of club. But there are a whole lot of laser effects, and they look cool. Check it out below.
When We Stay Alive is out 1/31 on Memphis Industries.
