After teasing it last month, Neil Young has officially announced the release of Archives Volume 2, the follow-up to 2009’s Archives set, which covered his career from 1963 through 1972. This one will feature material from Young’s career spanning 1972-1976 and it will include 12 never-before-released songs, plus a cover of Joni Mitchell’s Court And Spark track “Raised On Robbery,” and even more unreleased versions of existing songs. The set will be released on 11/20, per a post on Young’s official website, and pre-orders will begin on 10/16.

Archives Volume 2: 1972-1976 is just one of a few archival releases that Young has planned for the near future. Next year, we’re supposed to get the album Road Of Plenty and Young has also promised releases for Way Down In The Rust Bucket, a live recording of a 1990 Crazy Horse show, and Return to Greendale, a recording of a Crazy Horse show from 2003. Homegrown, Young’s long-shelved 1974 album, was finally released earlier this year, and is included in the new Archives box set.
