Scarface Needs A New Kidney After Surviving COVID-19
Way back in March, in the early days of the pandemic, the Houston rap legend Scarface was among the first celebrities to announce that he’d been suffering from COVID-19. In Instagram Live interviews with his former Geto Boys colleague Willie D and with Ludacris, Scarface told a harrowing story about his time in the hospital and about how close he’d come to death. Talking to Ludacris, Scarface also said that the virus did real damage to his body: “I’m not out the woods yet. My kidneys failing. I’m going to have to get a transplant, and then go on dialysis or whatever.”
Yesterday, Scarface tweeted that he will, indeed, need a new kidney, and he solicited his followers for a donor:
Scarface then went on to livetweet the vice presidential debates, which led to a weird little moment. In a since-deleted tweet during the debate, Scarface wrote: “Pence is a statesman I like this guy.” As you can imagine, people did not react well. Face deleted the original tweet, and he seemed to reconsider things afterward:
There’s an obvious solution here. Mike Pence should give Scarface a kidney.
