The Weeknd Announces Summer Stadium Tour With Doja Cat

The Weeknd’s attempts to tour behind 2020’s awesome After Hours were thwarted so many times that he ended up releasing a whole other album, this year’s smashing Dawn FM, before actually hitting the road. He’s also somehow become an even bigger star in the interim — a Super Bowl halftime show headliner, even. As a result, there won’t be an After Hours Tour as originally conceived. Instead, Abel Tesfaye’s upcoming jaunt will be called the After Hours Til Dawn Tour, and he’s upgrading from arenas to stadiums.

From early July through Labor Day weekend, the Weeknd will work his way through North American stadia with his “You Right” and “In Your Eyes (Remix)” collaborator Doja Cat, a burgeoning superstar in her own right, on board as the opening act. It begins in his hometown of Toronto and ends in his adopted hometown of Los Angeles. There are multi-day gaps between every date on the schedule, so don’t be surprised if they end up adding extra shows in certain markets. Personally I’d prefer if they dropped an Ohio date between Toronto and Philly.

In addition to announcing the tour, the Weeknd has partnered with the United Nations World Food Programme, for whom he serves as Goodwill Ambassador, to launch the XO HUMANITARIAN FUND, starting with a $500k donation from Tesfaye and $1 million from World Food Program USA. He’s donating $1 from every ticket sold on this tour to the fund, which is designed to combat global hunger.
