Nuovo Testamento Announce New EP Trouble: Hear “Picture Perfect”

That cover art looks moody, doesn't it? Well, don't expect to hear anything moody here. Instead, Nuovo Testamento, a trio whose members are based in Los Angeles and Bologna, make a dizzily joyous take on cheesy, emotional Euro-dance. They pull influences from multiple generations and subgenres, from freestyle and hi-NRG all the way up to '00s trance, but there's nothing ironic about them. They're just making dizzy, fun dance music, and your day is about to get a little more slaphappy when you hear their new song "Picture Perfect."

"Picture Perfect" is the opener to Nuovo Testamento's upcoming EP Trouble, the follow-up to their impressive 2023 debut Love Lines. When that album came out, it was cool just to hear a bunch of former punks, veterans of bands like Sheer Mag and Tørsö, playing this kind of frothy and euphoric music. But in the sleek, hammering "Picture Perfect," I hear a group that transcends its background and fully owns its sound. At any of my middle school dances in the early '90s, this shit would've killed. Below, check out "Picture Perfect" and the Trouble tracklist.

TRACKLIST:
01 "Picture Perfect"
02 "Dream On"
03 "On The Edge"
04 "2 Hearts"
05 "Soldier For Love"

The Trouble EP is out 7/25 on Discoteca Italia.
