A new Oso Oso song is always good news, but today it's "Bad News." The stripped-down track is Jade Lilitri's contribution to Counter Intuitive Records' new 10th anniversary compilation Cosmic Debris Vol. 2, from which we previously heard Origami Angel's "Back To Life." If you remember "One Sick Plan" from Basking In The Glow, you know Oso Oso can be transcendent in lo-fi solo mode, and they approach that stature here.
Tuesday, Counter Intuitive teased the release of "Bad Day" with this message on Instagram:
could not be more excited to add Oso Oso to the Counter Intuitive 10 Year Compilation w their song “Bad News” dropping tonight at midnight!!
even though we have worked on tapes or vinyl for every oso album now, this is the first time we’ve ever been a part of the initial release of an oso song. when we made volume 1 of the compilation 9 years ago, jade let us use a state lines song “i’m new” on it, and to my knowledge that was the only time that song was ever officially “released” on an album.
something about that is cool to me, it’s crazy to think of how much oso/state lines stuff we’ve got to make between then and now. more to come soon!!
